statement is designed to provide information about the privacy and data collection practices for
sites owned and operated by Epson America, Inc. and its subsidiaries (the "Sites").
This Privacy Statement is applicable to the United States and Canada. Other Epson sites not managed
by Epson America, Inc. (such as Epson Electronics and Epson Research and Development) and Epson sites
in other countries may operate under their own privacy policies. In addition, the Epson PhotoCenter
contains its own privacy statement at http://photo.epson.com/welcome/privacy.html.

Identifying Information
In general, you can visit the Site without telling us who you are
or providing any information about yourself. In some areas of the Site, we ask you to provide information
that will enable us to support our relationship with you, such as to process an order, offer services,
or follow up with you. You will find that Epson asks for identifying information when you:
- Register on any of our web sites.
- Place an order.
- Tell us about a suggestion or give us feedback.
- Participate in a rebate program, sweepstakes, or other promotional offer.
- Register to receive mailings or product catalog, or e-mail notification about product availability.
- Register an EPSON product.
- Register to participate in an Epson training or educational program.
- Request technical support and files or customer service.
In these instances, Epson will ask for your name, address, zip code, e-mail address, phone number or
other appropriate information needed to provide you with these services. In all instances, it will be
clear to you that you are submitting this type of information. In addition, if you choose to receive a
newsletter or other mailing from us, you will always be able to "unsubscribe" to these mailings
as described in the Opting-Out section below.
What Epson Will Do With Your Information
If you choose to give us personal information for
any of the purposes above, this information is retained by Epson and is used by Epson only to support
your customer relationship with us. For example, we may send you a mailed announcement of product
upgrades, special offers, and other new products and services from Epson. Except for third parties
acting on behalf of Epson for some services as we discuss in the next section, Epson will not disclose
your personal information to third parties without your consent unless we believe we are obligated to
provide it under law such as in response to a request from law enforcement officials. Epson may also
enhance or merge your information collected on the web site with data from other Epson sources or third
parties for purposes of marketing products or services to you.
What Others May Do With Your Information
Epson does not share, rent, or sell any personally identifying information provided through the Site
(such as your name or email address) to any outside organization for use in its marketing or solicitations.
From time to time Epson may use third party agents or contractors who will have access to your personal
information to perform services for Epson (such as a database management service) but only in accordance
with this stated privacy policy. And Epson requires certain safeguards in place by any vendors with access
to personal data collected by Epson, including a written commitment to keep the information confidential
and to only use the data to carry out the services for Epson. In addition, Epson may also share aggregate
information about its customers and its web site visitors to advertisers, business partners, and other third parties.
For example, we might share that our users are x percent PCs users and y percent Macintosh users.
None of this information, however, will contain personal, identifying information about any of our users.
Opting Out
Epson provides several easy means for you to tell us you do not wish to continue
to receive e-mails. If you do not want to receive any information about products or services, you can
simply tell us at the time you give us your personal information by checking the appropriate box.
Or, at any other time you can easily opt out by going into your account and changing your preferences.
You will also be able to respond to any e-mail you receive from Epson by replying to the "unsubscribe"
information included with each mailing. You can also advise us by letter to the address below at any time.
Collecting Aggregate Data and Cookies
Like many web sites, Epson collects non-personal
data about how the site is being viewed. Most non-personal data is collected via cookies or other
analysis technologies. The Site includes analysis features which enable Epson to capture aggregate
data bout how the site is used, such as amount of total traffic, number of page views or umber of
unique visitors. This feature does not capture personal identifying information about any visitors to
the Site. Epson reviews this data and uses it only for internal purposes of assessing and for managing
the Site. Epson also uses cookies on its technical support site to make the user experience less
cumbersome. A "cookie" is a small data file transferred by a website to your computer's hard
drive. Accepting the cookies used on our site does not give us access to your personal information,
but we may use the cookies to identify your computer.
The Epson Store
The Epson Store is that part of the site that allows you to purchase Epson
product online. The Epson Store part of the Sites is designed to give you options concerning the privacy of your
identifying information. If you choose, you can set up an account, where you will provide certain personal information.
This will allow you to have a customized order page for express ordering and to view your purchasing history. To protect your privacy,
we have designed the Epson Store part of the Site to include certain steps to verify your identity before
granting you access or enabling you to make corrections in an account. You will always have access to this
account information and can view it, update it or correct it at any time. To access your information, you
will need to use a password. When purchasing products from the Epson Store Site, the order form will also ask you
to provide a daytime telephone number. A telephone number is requested so we can quickly resolve questions relative to
an order, such as to clarify customer orders or to notify a customer of a backorder status.
You also can decide whether to have credit card information retained by us or not. We use industry
standard security measures, and retain card information for payment processing purposes only.
Credit card information remains encrypted.Because we know customers are concerned about credit card
security, Epson Store users have two choices when purchasing from the Epson Store. You may either:
- Store your credit card number(s) in your profile with us. This is convenient, because it means you
will not need to re-enter your number each time you place an order. Access to your profile is password
protected.
- Elect not to store your credit card number(s) in your profile. You will then be required to re-enter
your credit card information each time you place an order with us.
If at any time you would like to make a purchase but do not want to provide your credit card information
online, you may also contact a sales representative at the Epson Store by telephone at 800-873-7766
to take your order.
Children's Privacy Protection
Epson is aware of the heightened need to protect the privacy
of children under the age of 13. The vast majority of the material on the Site is not intended for
children and is not targeted to children under the age of 13. Epson does not knowingly collect data
from children and, if we learn that we have received personal data from a child, we will remove this
information from our database.
Third Party Links
The Sites do provide links to other sites. Other Internet sites and services
have their own privacy and data collection practices. Please note that once you click on one of these
sites, you leave the Epson Site and Epson has no control or responsibility for the privacy policies
or data collection activities at another site. We encourage you to read the privacy statements at those
sites as you visit them.
Canadian Residents
This information also applies to information collected online of Canadian residents through Epson Canada.
Changes to this Policy
Epson may from time to time revise its privacy policy. We will not, however, use your
existing information in a manner not previously disclosed. You will be advised and have the opportunity to opt out
of any new use of your information.
